In my almost ten years immersed in African safaris, I’ve navigated Southern Africa’s diverse landscapes, leading game drives and bush walks as a safari guide, participating in field-based conservation projects, and managing safari lodges. From the bushveld of South Africa’s Kruger National Park to the dusty trails of the Kalahari and the vast Namib sand sea, my experience as a guide has been more than a pursuit of the wild, they’ve been a platform for fostering connections between travellers and the places they visit.

Collaborating with conservationists in Africa, I embraced my position as an ambassador and guardian of Namibia’s delicate ecosystems. Later, as a lodge manager, I honed skills beyond the wild, delving into the intricacies of hospitality, customer service and safari culture.

Having returned home to England, I worked in sales at a specialist safari operator and as a project manager for an events company in Bristol. Now I find myself at the intersection of passion and purpose. It’s about more than just traversing landscapes; it’s about ensuring that every journey supports the conservation, community, commerce and culture of the countries we visit. My experiences, from guiding to lodge management, are not just stories – they are a testament to the transformative power of travel when it aligns with a mission greater than ourselves. This message is central to Niarra’s mission and I am hugely proud to be part of the team.
