Venture deep into the forest by road and then snowmobile to an intimate camp of Lavvu tents, the traditional accommodation of choice for the region’s indigenous Sámi people. Cross-country ski, ice skate along the frozen river, explore further afield by snowmobile, fat bike on the snow and track reindeer. Heat up around a fire or in the sauna which is sat frozen in the lake, with a plunge pool for the brave. Given clear skies, the stargazing is fantastic and another great chance to gaze in wonder at the aurora borealis light up the forest. The camp’s owner is a renowned photographer and can be on hand to help you capture the moment.
The OutPost is a cozy former post office in the tiny village of Mårdsel, just across the Arctic Circle. Enjoy hearty gourmet meals after days out trying your hand at ice fishing, dog sledding, and snowshoeing to huts in the wilderness for local delicacies or a picnic in the Arctic Circle in a beautiful, authentic log cabin.
On the historic Norrmalmstorg Square, Nobis Hotel Stockholm offers an oasis of calmly luxurious Scandinavian design.
Gastrologik is one of Sweden's very best restaurants with two Michelin stars. It is a celebration of humble Swedish ingredients sourced from passionate farmers, growers, breeders, fishermen and hunters who share the same values as we do in terms of quality as well as environmentally and ethically as chef-owners Jacob Holmström and Anton Bjuhr. The season dictates what’s served – there's no menu but expect around 20 delicately assembled plates.
