Days 6 — 9

The Okavango Delta

Fly into Maun, Botswana, before a short light aircraft flight into the Okavango Delta. Each year, the Okavango River flows into northern Botswana, spilling out over the Kalahari to create the world’s largest inland delta. This creates a huge, diverse and dynamic ecosystem that’s a haven for wildlife and the setting for one of the very best safari experiences in all Africa.

Known in the local Lozi language as Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning ‘The Smoke That Thunders’, or in Tonga as Shungu Namutitima, ‘Boiling Water’, the 108m tall and 1,700m wide roaring wall is a wonder of the natural world.
