Ugab vantage
One of the most dramatic rock formations in Namibia is the 35m high pillar of rock, the Vingerklip (or stone finger), standing above a valley in the ancient landscape known as the Ugab terraces and Vingerklip Lodge below.
24 en suite rooms are split between 12 thatched bungalows, each with a private terrace. Heaven’s Gate is an exclusive suite perched up on one of the natural terraces, accessible via a mountain walk and metal stairway that’s rewarded with incredible vistas.
The same view can be enjoyed from the Eagle’s Nest restaurant, the sundowner spot is fairly spectacular too. The lodge also features two swimming pools and a main restaurant. There are several hikes here while three waterholes in the reserve attract giraffes, elands, kudus and more.
