Overview
Pongwe beach retreat
On Zanzibar Island’s east coast, Tulia is a romantic retreat that enjoys its own stretch of Pongwe beach’s beautiful white sands in the shade of casuarinas and palms.
It is a small, peaceful resort with just 16 thatched villas and bungalows. Ten, some with Indian Ocean views, are set in the lush tropical gardens while five are set on a small cliff and take in the sunrise from their seafront terraces. A villa ideal for families of four can be found in its own garden.
The well-regarded restaurant, bar and a pair of swimming pools are middle of the boutique set up, with a spa and organic gardens tucked away amid the greenery.
