Entebbe

The Boma Hotel

Overview

Boutique guesthouse

In a green suburb just a few minutes from Entebbe’s airport, The Boma is a charming little guesthouse based around a characterful 1940s home.

15 simple but comfortable rooms are set around the tropical gardens and swimming pool. There’s also a relaxed residents-only bar and dining area, particularly welcome when lit by lanterns at night. Add in it’s warm service and you'll see why The Boma is our favourite option for Entebbe overnights.

The Boma is committed to operating our business in a manner that maintains a balance between helping the environment and the community.

Solar heaters are used for showers and a water catchment system stores rainwater for use in the gardens. They use locally sourced ingredients in the restaurant where possible, including plenty of salad, fruit and vegetables from the manager’s own garden which is a five-minute cycle away.

The Boma supports Papercraft, a grassroots project that makes eco-friendly products such as menu covers, recycled paper used in albums, notebooks and glass beads. They also make the hand-made soaps that we use in the guest bedrooms. There are no plastic bottles and all glass and much paper waste is taken to Papercraft and recycled. Many of the items in the craft shop are from this source.
