The Seychelles

STORY Seychelles

Overview

White sand beach and turquoise water

Wake up to the idyllic sounds of gentle waves lapping the shore at STORY Mahè.

The boutique resort is located in Beau Vallon Beach, one of the island of Mahè’s finest neighbourhoods. Here you’ll find 3km of pristine white beach and turquoise waters, and the hotel boasts a natural reef that’s just a 50m swim away. It’s the only beach that you can swim at all year round.

The resort itself is peaceful and not only does it pride itself on being sustainably green, but it also has strong ties to the local culture, both through the Creole colonial architecture as well as the people.

STORY Mahè, with its azure waters, shining beaches and lush vegetation really does offer you an island paradise where you will find yourself surrounded by natural beauty, given a charming Creole welcome and invited to truly relax and indulge in the finer things in life.

Community & Culture

STORY Mahè uses all local products, and they grow their own fruits, vegetables and herbs. You’ll also find Fair Trade, Organic and Rainforest Alliance-certified products used wherever possible. They are committed to giving guests an ocean-to-table experience. You’ll also find that spa treatments are inspired by local wellness practices.

Conservation

A dedicated lagoon team works hard to ensure that the lagoon, which is home to a wide variety of creatures, is carefully maintained. On land, the landscaping team makes sure that more than half of the resorts property is taken care of. Regular beach clean-ups are held and there is an ongoing coral restoration project running.

Footprint

The resort prides itself on being plastic free, reusing and recycling paper, composting organic waste and championing the Refuse the Straw movement. When it comes to water conservation, you’ll be encouraged to reuse your towels and linen. The resort has its own water bottling plant and aerators help to reduce consumption. Rainwater is harvested for use around the resort. Likewise, there are also efforts to reduce the amount of energy consumed. They encourage a “switch off” policy and the resort is fitted with smart, LED and solar lights.
