Panbang Eco Camp

Rustic comfort in the Bhutanese Jungle

Established in 2015, Panbang Eco Camp is a community-based sustainable venture initially funded by Bhutan Foundation, located near the sub-tropical forests of Royal Manas National Park.

Situated next to the Marangdut tributary of the Drangme river, it comprises of eight comfortable and spacious individual tents for sleeping, modern bathroom and shower facilities, and a common dining area. All the structures are covered with thatched roof made in the traditional Khengpa style. When in season, the camp’s kitchen staff will be most happy to make traditional delicacies out of local resources such as wild banana flowers, bamboo shoots, edible orchids and ferns. Panbang Eco Camp source their vegetables and food items locally where possible.

The rich wildlife viewing opportunities here more than compensates for the simple creature comforts this facility has to offer. View wild elephants, rhino, deer, riverine aquatic species and many colourful birds in this easily accessible Park. The nearby forests and stream provide ample opportunities for a pleasant hike or a cool dip in the water.
