Overview
Overlooking the Mountains of the Moon
Ndali Lodge is situated on a 1,000-acre estate in the heart of Western Uganda’s crater lakes region offering views of the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains – also known as the ‘Mountains of the Moon’. With a homely atmosphere, Ndali Lodge is family-run and prides itself on creating a cozy environment full of nostalgic charm.
There are eight bandas built of stone and thatch, each with a private verandah making the most of the panoramic views. The interiors have been decorated with locally sourced materials: wicker chairs, four-poster beds, and intricate hand-carved wooden artifacts.
The main area features a swimming pool, spacious lounge, reception area and dining room, all facing the vast Lake Nyinambuga – a water-filled volcanic crater spanning 250 acres and reaching depths of up to 130 metres. There is no electricity, but there is ample hot water and lighting is either by candle or storm lantern so as not to detract from the rustic charm of the area.
