A camp away from the crowds
Mysigio is a traditional camp with authentic cultural experiences in a remote spot up in the Ngorongoro highlands within reach of the crater floor.
There are 12 semi-permanent en suite sleeping tents, with the main mess tent warmed by wood-burning stoves.
This is one of the few camps where an authentic and private Masaai experience is possible thanks to the camp’s long relationship with a nearby village. Walks of various levels are available from this camp, from an hour-long stroll around the boundaries of camp with a Masaai elder who will interpret the fauna around camp to more strenuous full-day hikes.

Community & Culture
The camp has a close and long-standing relationship with the local Mysigio Maasai tribe. They have been camping in the area for almost three decades and are grateful to call Chief Ole Dorop and his family, friends, ensuring cultural experiences are on their terms and remain authentic.
Footprint
Mysigio Camp runs on 100% solar powered light, from the well-lit paths, to the bedside reading lights, ensuring that the clear Ngorongoro atmosphere is not spoiled by noisy generators. The camp is fitted with a solar powered inverter enabling guests to charge camera and phone batteries. The wood burning stove is designed to run on eco-briquettes made from remnants of coconut and cashew husks as well as waste charcoal that would otherwise be discarded.
