Western Serengeti

Mila Tented Camp

Overview

Traditional Tented Luxury

Located in the Western Serengeti, Mila camp is ideal for those seeking a traditional comfortable tented safari experience.

Mila is all about secluded privacy with only 5 tents and one family tent. Each tent is nestled beneath a canopy of acacia trees and boasts prime settings overlooking expansive wilderness. The decor draws inspiration from local tribes and echoes the yellow-gold grasses of the Serengeti to create a natural tone.

Ideally located in the remote region of Nyasirori means there is an abundance of wildlife viewing on a year-round basis. Mila is the perfect base in which to explore the western Serengeti with your private guide.

Conservation

The Friedkin Conservation Fund (FCF) preserves over 3.2 million acres of protected wildlife areas that are vital to the Serengeti ecosystem’s survival. The fund also focuses on ensuring that communities living along the ecosystem’s unfenced borders benefit from the wildlife conservation plan.

Community & Culture

The FCF is committed to demonstrating how active wildlife conservation can have long-lasting benefits. In addition to that, they have three main focus points. They have helped to build schoolrooms and teacher housing and have set up scholarships to improve access to education in some of the more remote areas.

They have also implemented income-generating projects to help villagers use what they do well to become self-reliant, and they offer micro-financing and business consulting services.

For many isolated communities, access to vital health services is limited. The FCF provides equipment and medicine to clinics, and runs educational programmes focused on basic medical knowledge.
