Community & Culture
Mandarin Oriental, Santiago works closely with well-known Chilean foundation San José para la Adopción. This vital group assists with the adoption process from start to finish, including supporting the health of unborn infants and mothers, helping families navigate adoption procedures, and providing a safe and loving environment for older children. The hotel also works closely with Descúbreme, a non-profit organization that supports people with cognitive disabilities.
Footprint
The hotel has implemented several measures which align with the group-wide policy of eliminating single-use plastic by March 2021. All water and soda bottles in the hotel have been replaced with glass bottles. Plastic straws and take-away cutlery have been replaced with bamboo.Beyond working with certified companies to best manage the recycling of paper, glass, and plastic, our internal food packaging bags have been replaced by new "smart pack" bags, which are 100% recyclable.
