A romantic retreat
In the heart of Madikwe Game Reserve’s 75,000 wild, malaria-free hectares, Madikwe Hills is a luxury game lodge found on a rocky outcrop amid boulders and age-old trees overlooking a waterhole where elephants and giraffes gather to drink.
There are ten well-spaced and totally private glass-fronted suites scattered across the hillside, each with a plunge pool, sun beds, outdoor showers, deep bathtubs, cosy fire-warmed lounges and giant four-poster beds.
Follow wooden walkways lit by hurricane lamps to the central open-plan lounge, bar and wine cellar. You can dine in the elegant indoor space, open-air boma or on the deck of your suite.

Game drives
Explore the wonders of the African bush with knowledgeable and professional rangers on early morning and late afternoon drives. Madikwe Game Reserve is home not only to the ‘Big Five’, but also to a wealth of over 66 mammal species, including the rare African wild dog, as well as cheetah, giraffe and a range of more than 300 resident and migratory species of birds.
