Exclusive island escape

Built on an island in a private concession in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta, the intimate Little Vumbura camp is small by name but big on experience.

Your tented suite, one of just six, enjoys immense views across the floodplains from its private deck and plunge pool. All built on stilts to have minimal impact on the environment, follow raised wooden walkways over the rushes to communal dining spot, boma area and star deck.

Within an exceptionally varied mosaic landscape encapsulating the wider Delta in miniature, the area around Little Vumbura attracts a great diversity and density of wildlife from big cats to elephant herds which you can discover on an exciting blend of land a water-based safari activities.

    Game drives, night drives and guided walks

Community & Culture

The Vumbura Concession is leased from local rural communities through the Okavango Community Trust, there are several positive outcomes. Some of the results of the partnership include socio-economic benefits, livelihood diversification and training and skills development programmes for locals.

Conservation

Little Vumbura is involved with the Wilderness Wildlife Trust-funded Botswana Lion Genetics Study. This project was set up to develop a comprehensive understanding of the past and current genetic structure if the lion population around the Okavango Delta.
