Lengkhar

Lingkhar Lodge

Overview

Experience the 'Jewel of the East'

Tucked away amongst the lush green vegetation in the rural countryside of the quaint, vibrant town of Trashigang in eastern Bhutan, sits the simple and comfortable, Lingkhar Lodge.

Trashigang, meaning ‘fortress of the auspicious mountain’, is a picturesque town perched on a lofty hilltop with spectacular views of the surrounding valley above the Drangme Chhu river. Known as the ‘Jewel of the East’, this bustling town was once the centre for trade with Tibet and is the principal marketplace for the semi-nomadic people of Merak and Sakteng who come to trade their yak butter for other provisions to take back to the mountains.

Lingkhar Lodge’s 20 rooms (8 standard, 9 Deluxe and 3 Suites) are housed in traditional cottages and have been designed using a beautiful mix of traditional Bhutanese style infused with modern comforts. Each room has its own balcony with valley and countryside views, overlooking orange orchards and terraced rice fields. The hotel restaurant serves Bhutanese, Indian and Chinese cuisine, whilst the bar offers an interesting selection of international and local beverages, including Ara, the local spirit distilled from rice.
