Head out trekking through impressive gorges, rainforest and waterfalls, or set off down the Manambolo River in a traditional dugout canoe to learn about the fascinating local wildlife and ecosystem.

    River Trips

    Float down the Manabolo River in a traditional dugout canoe known as a ‘pirogue’. This provides a authentic way to explore the surrounding forest spotting some of the rarer species of animals from the water. The river cuts through a spectacular limestone gorges and landscapes on the southern boundary of the national park.

    Visit the National Park

    The lodge is close to the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, and its impressive limestone formations and incredible scenery. Explore this UNESCO world heritage site with a private guide and learn about the huge diversity of rare wildlife and this beautiful habitat.

    Explore the Caves

    Head out and visit one of the caves filled with stalactites and stalagmites as well as a few human tombs from Madagascar’s first settlers, the Vazimba, which date back to the 5th century.

Conservation

The lodge was opened in 2013 and during construction they set out to preserve the surrounding biodiversity by saving the surrounding trees and shrubs. After opening the lodge went on to plant another 5,000 indigenous trees and shrubs. The 20-hectare plot of land is protected and monitored by the community at Les Soleil Des Tsingy.

Footprint

In order to reduce the carbon footprint of the lodge much of the food is grown and sourced locally which not only helps and supports local communities but helps reduce food miles and its negative impact on the environment.
