Isle of Skye

Kinloch Lodge

Overview

True Highland hospitality

Kinloch Lodge is situated on Sleat, the southern peninsula of the storied and spectacular Isle of Skye.

Nestled between a mountain and Loch na Dal, Kinloch was originally built in 1676 as a farmhouse, before being converted into a shooting lodge for the Macdonalds of Skye in the 18th century. A family home for Godfrey, Lord Macdonald and High Chief of Clan Donald, and his wife, world-renowned chef Claire, the pair converted it into a hotel in 1972.

Still in the family, it is a celebration of true Highland hospitality – roaring fires, an extensive whisky collection, giant beds and a renowned restaurant showcasing Skye’s rich bounty.

While the entire island is ripe for exploration, there are an abundance of walks on the local grounds. Spend your days beachcombing down at the loch when the tide is out, or hill walking up to the former settlement behind the lodge for awesome views.
