Barossa Valley, South Australia

Hutton Vale Farm

Overview

Conservation combined with farming at it's best

Set amid Barossa’s rolling green pastoral landscape, Hutton Vale Farm is a historic farm that combines its heritage with sustainable practices and the utmost respect for the landscape to create celebrated wines and produce. It also has a charming boutique villa, a great spot for making the most of the region’s food and wine.

The Angas family have been the custodians of this land for seven generations dating back to the 1840s. Named after the pioneering founder, The J.H.A Stone Cellar is a luxury, two-bedroom, villa with providing a rural escape just an hour outside of Adelaide. There is also a more rustic cabin with four bedrooms perfect for families or a group of friends.

Community & Culture

With a history stretching back seven generations, Hutton Vale Farm is all about its place and locality, supporting local producers, artisans and workers.

Conservation

The family believe that as the current custodians of the land, they should take only what is necessary and give back wherever they can to allow for future generations. An extensive tree planting program across the farm has a focus on building natural habitat as well as shade for animals and replacement plantings for the centurion gums trees.

Footprint

Conservation of water is paramount, herbicides are rarely used in the vineyard with sheep grazing for weed control. Solar power is fitted to the majority of the buildings feeding back into the grid. The wine production has a generational approach giving strong immunity development.
