Originally dating back to 1885, the historic Hotel Norge has long been Bergen’s most famous hotel. Rebuilt in the 1960s and completely renovated in 2018, today it combines traditionally warm hospitality with a vibrant modern atmosphere.
415 rooms feature beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows, inviting in the mountains, light and city atmosphere. Many have balconies and the larger suites have terraces. Downstairs, find restaurant Nova, Café Norge and the stylish bar, as well as the pool and spa.

In 1993, Scandic decided to become a leader in sustainability and drive the development of sustainability in the hospitality industry. It was one of the Scandic team members that had the idea to ask guests to hang up their towels if they wanted to use it again – a practice that is now mainstream in hotels all over the world. They have continued to drive change ever since. In 1996, they started reporting environmental data on the hotel level and began phasing out single-use plastic packaging and in 2008 we began serving local water in sustainable, refillable bottles designed especially for Scandic.
They continue to innovate and drive change in the hospitality industry to push for a more sustainable society. Their hotels use 100% renewable electric energy which when paired with other efforts such as sustainably-minded menus make for one of the lightest footprints per guest in the industry.
