Once a grand 19th-century mansion built by a wealthy member of the Greek ‘Diaspora’ following the retreat of the Ottoman Empire, and turned into the city’s finest hotel later in the century, the Hotel Grande Bretagne has hosted numerous historic events and figures ever since.

320 elegant rooms and suites a refined base in the capital, each adorned with original artworks, antiques and modern luxuries.

The hotel has an award-winning spa as well as a rich array of dining and drinking venues, from its fabulous rooftop space with views of the Acropolis, to the renowned Alexander’s Bar, a fine spot for a cocktail.

Community & Culture

The hotel regularly organizes fundraising activities with various local charities, such as, “Hamogelou tou Paidiou”, “Me Agapi”, Doctors without Borders, “Theotokos” and local orphanages. Every week food is donated to the Municipality of Athens for the “Homeless Foundation” and the “Galini Foundation” for Socially Vulnerable Groups.
