Gleneagles is one of greatest names in the world of golf with three of the top golf courses in Scotland. And as recent hosts of The Ryder and Solheim Cups, it’s easy to see why. The beautiful golf courses, in equally beautiful settings, are as much fun for novices to play as they are for the pros.

The new Spa at Gleneagles is a soothing haven from everyday stresses, where the welcome is warm, the spirits are lifted, and the pursuit of balance is the only option on the menu.

  • Gleneagles fishing

    Salmon & Fly Fishing

The Gleneagles trout lochs are a wonderful place to fish, whether you’ve cast many a reel before or looking to learn. And when the mighty Atlantic salmon is in season, you’ll find little to compare with the thrill of fishing on the world-renowned River Tay.

Footprint

The hotel was awarded gold status by Green Tourism, an accreditation organisation that seeks to make the travel and tourism industry more sustainable. Some of the sustainable practices noted by Green Tourism at Gleneagles included a well-established green team to support behavior change and implement sustainability initiatives across the estate; a robust energy and waste management system; extensive use of LED lighting; electric vehicle charging facilities; and use of water conservation technologies and saying goodbye to all single-use plastic. Finally make sure you arrive by train as the hotel is giving out complimentary transfers from Gleneagles Railway station, to encourage guests to travel by train rather than car.

Conservation

The hotel has created a buzz about their new beekeeping initiative that not only improves local biodiversity and helps teach people about it. But the honey created isn't half bad either! There are also visits to ensure those suppliers share the alues of maintaining the highest standards of quality as well as appropriate animal welfare, environmental and working standards.

Community & Culture

Gleneagles operates with a large number of community projects and charities all having hugely positive effects. From working with 'Social Bite' providing homeless people across Scotland with food and bedrooms to contributing to 'Andys Man Club' an initiative to talk about men's mental health. ‘Our Turn To Care’, to thank the heroes in the light of the pandemic with a long term gesture of gratitude by donating 365 free room nights to healthcare workers each year for the next five years.

The towns and villages that surround Gleneagles offer a tapestry of heritage and traditions that have made their mark on Gleneagles in many ways and they are committed to giving back where they can. From providing a number of career development opportunities to children in the local area to working with Perth-based Anchor House, which works to overcome the causes and consequences of social exclusion, homelessness, poverty and unemployment. During the pandemic, the Hotel supported its neighbours. They donated all our non-perishable supplies to Auchterarder’s Blue Door Foodbank for distribution in the local community. They also provided nearly 500 Christmas lunches for some of the most vulnerable and impoverished families in the local area and across Scotland.
