A grand manor
In the historic region of Bergslagen northwest of Stockholm, once an area renowned for its ironworks and now blanketed in forest and farmland, Färna Herrgård is a grand manor house that dates back to 1776.
The estate is now a charming hotel surrounded by gardens, lakes and woodland. Its 70 rooms are split between six wings, each in a traditional country style.
The restaurant celebrates local, seasonal organic produce, much of it sourced from the grounds, while the spa here features a swimming pool, saunas, a heated outdoor spring and a range of treatments.
