Deep within the delta's maze of lagoons, large lakes and hidden, meandering channels. Camp Okavango, is a unique and exclusive African safari camp situated on the remote Nxaragha Island.
This hidden gem consists of just twelve suites ensuring a peaceful and genuine safari experience. Step outside the doors onto your own open-air viewing deck offering beautiful views over the Okavango Delta. You’ll find plenty of places to relax dotted around the camp and a pool to cool down in on those hotter days.
Here you are right in the heart of the delta. Spend your days roaming around the vast expanses of water from the comfort of a modern motorboat or explore the intricacies of the Okavango Delta the quiet old-fashioned way, in the traditional mokoro. You can also track down the delta’s wildlife on foot before returning for a sundowner in the camp's open-air fire pits and comfortable seating areas to relax and take in the natural surroundings.

Walking Safaris
For those wanting to get a little closer to nature, guided bush walks are conducted on a number of the nearby islands, offering an opportunity to track some of the larger land-based species that inhabit this water wilderness.

Water Safaris
Camp Okavango is a water-based camp and game-drive activities, using safari vehicles, are not possible. However water-based activities are conducted by experienced professional guides who will expertly navigate guests through the many meandering, reed-lined waterways.

Enjoy a night on the new Camp Okavango sleep out deck. The open deck offers you the chance to sleep out under the stars and experience the vastness of the Okavango Delta.
Community & Culture
Through a variety of initiatives, Desert & Delta Safaris supports local communities, focusing on creating career opportunities in the tourism industry. This includes offering bursaries for tertiary education assisting Botswanan students with their tourism studies, employing staff from local communities and Youth Development Program that creates opportunities for youth from disadvantaged social environments.
Conservation
Desert & Delta Safaris is active in raising awareness and further funding for the Botswana Rhino Relocation and Reintroduction program, an initiative that involves key Government departments together with the private sector, working together for the protection of the countries rhino population.
The value of scientific studies in protected areas is of paramount importance to the sustainable use of natural resources. Desert & Delta Safaris financially supports the Peter Smith University of Botswana herbarium with an estimated BWP 50,000 per annum. The focus of the herbarium is to make their collection of preserved plants useful and accessible to a wider public, including those who plan for and manage the future of the Okavango Delta.
Footprint
Desert & Delta Safaris are all about being eco-conscious, driving sustainable and innovative initiatives within our daily operations which protect and limit the impact the camps. Their camps are lodges are EcoTourism rated, the highest status recognised by Botswana Tourism for sound sustainable tourism initiatives. This includes the usage of greywater treatment plants, careful waste management protocols as well as the use of sustainable building materials wherever possible. Camp Okavango's solar array means that it runs entirely on renewable energy.
