Avondrood, named after an evening’s red sunset sky, is a charming family-run guest house in historic Franschhoek.
Inside the Victorian Cape-Dutch home find eight spacious individually designed suites, a grand fire warmed lounge and well stocked bar. Outside, peaceful gardens surround a large pool and breakfast veranda.
Just a short stroll from the village’s renowned restaurants, cafes and museums, you’re also well placed to explore the vineyards of the Franschhoek Valley and beyond.

Community & Culture
Cecilia Williams, one of Avondrood's duty managers, developed a plan together with her sisters Marilyn and Natasha, to provide a meal on Sundays for the needy in Groendal. The soup kitchens in this suburb of Franschhoek only operate during the week, so the sisters started providing a healthy meal to 400 people supported by the chefs working out of Avondrood's and sister propert La Fontaine's kitchens.
