A classic homestead
High on a ridge of the world-famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve, overlooking the magnificent Sand River, Kirkman's Kamp is a lodge with a rich history excellent safari experience.
12 guest cottages blend the old and new, with antique-style touches and modern comforts along with while private verandas making the most of panoramic views.
The main lodge retains the ambiance of the original 1920s homestead, with a library and fire-warmed sitting room the perfect setting for a pre-dinner drink. Outside, find a rolling lawn, swimming pool and boma area.
Sharing an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park, the Sabi Sand Game Reserve benefits from a great diversity of wildlife. Guests staying at Kirkman’s Kamp have the privilege of traversing 10,500 hectares of exclusive-use land that is home to, not only the Big Five but other rare and iconic species.

Game drives
Set out in an open 4x4 safari vehicle in the company of a ranger and tracker team, who will attempt to track your favourite animals. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve is particularly well known for its leopard sightings. Safaris are led by expert &Beyond-trained ranger and tracker teams, with sensitive off-roading practices and vehicle limits at sightings ensure the exclusivity of an up-close game viewing experience.

Conservation
By staying with us at Kirkman’s Kamp, you are indirectly contributing to various conservation initiatives across the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, from anti-poaching missions and general wildlife management, to specific projects, such as The Southern Ground Hornbill Monitoring and Support Programme, and The Leopard Conservation Project, which focuses on the active research, monitoring and identifying of leopards by guides, in partnership with Panthera.
